The Case of Calcium Chloride Desiccant for Women Clothing

In June 2015, we received an inquiry from the USA.
hi, if there a desiccant to aviod mold and mildew in clothes?I import clothes from China, but after shipping, some clothes in very bad condition because of moisture.
Our product experts have a wealth of experience in providing clothes moisture-absorbent.
Why do the clothes get mold during shipping from China, Vietnam, or Indian factory?
The main reason is usually a combination of the following factors:
- The products themselves are too wet when packed. (Some garment manufacturing processes will include washing, but they may not be thoroughly dried)
- The products are packed with wet packing materials.
- There is a lot of moisture in the storage area(like the warehouse).
- There is a lot of water in the shipping container (during long transportation, mold develops).
So at first, we get the picture of how customers' goods are packed, and then we will judge what desiccant is used and how much is used.
After communication, we know it takes about two months for this customer's clothes to go from China manufacturing to the US warehouse. The ordinary 2g silica gel desiccant will reach saturation in about a week and no longer absorb moisture(if the significant pack weight increase, the customer shipping fee will increase, not economic), so we recommended the calcium chloride desiccant with 300% efficiency than silica gel for him, which is 2g, 55*90mm, two-layer package, never leak.
To ensure the clothes won't get moldy, we recommend our customers hang some of our container desiccants in the shipping containers.
We built a lasting satisfying collaboration from this solution.
